Pediatric Dentistry First Visit
Teaching a child how to brush At Pediatric Dental Associates, our goal is to keep your child’s teeth healthy while making him or her comfortable receiving care. Our staff works together to develop a special relationship with each family so that going to the dentist can be a pleasant experience for both parent and child. We are committed to making your child’s first dental visit a positive one. You can help prepare your child for the first visit to the dentist. Tell your child we will “count” his/her teeth and show you both how to clean teeth.
Our office has been specially designed to create a warm and friendly atmosphere for all of our patients and their parents. We recognize that some children, especially new patients are more comfortable with a parent present during treatment. Our hygiene and treatment operatories, therefore, have been designed with seating areas for parents who wish to accompany pre-school children.
We will thoroughly explain each of our procedures to your child in terms that can be easily understood before we do it. A full examination of the teeth and supporting structures will be done. The occlusion (bite) will be evaluated and the teeth cleaned. Radiographs (x-rays) will be taken if necessary to assure a thorough and comprehensive examination. We are very conservative about taking x-rays of children and have selected x-ray equipment which provides maximum safety for our patients. Dentist and teenage patient
Following the exam, we will discuss any future treatment needs. Any questions you may have pertaining to the plan of treatment can be answered at this time.
